These richly colored spheres are carved from natural malachite, a copper-based mineral known for its vivid green hues and concentric banding. The striking patterns form as copper-rich groundwater crystallizes in limestone or other host rock over time.

Malachite is most famously sourced from the Democratic Republic of Congo, home to some of the world’s highest-quality deposits. Other notable sources include Russia, Namibia, and the southwestern United States.

Each sphere is polished to a smooth finish and displays its own unique flow of color and pattern.
