Bumblebee Jasper Towers from Indonesia | Natural Bumblebee Stone Crystal Points

These striking Bumblebee Jasper Towers were sourced directly from Indonesia, home to the world’s only deposits of this remarkable material. Their vivid bands of yellow, gold, gray, cream, and black create one of the most recognizable patterns in the mineral world.

During sourcing, I had the opportunity to watch some of the carving process firsthand, making these pieces especially memorable additions to the collection.

Although commonly called Bumblebee Jasper, this material is technically not a true jasper. It forms near ancient volcanic vents and is composed primarily of calcite, sulfur, realgar, pyrite, and other volcanic minerals rather than silica-rich quartz like traditional jasper.

The dramatic yellow and orange coloration comes primarily from sulfur-rich minerals deposited during volcanic activity millions of years ago. These unique geological conditions are found almost exclusively in West Java, Indonesia, making Bumblebee Jasper one of the more geographically unique collector stones available today.

Each tower is hand-polished to highlight its natural banding and volcanic patterns. No two pieces are alike.

Care Note:

Because Bumblebee Jasper contains trace amounts of naturally occurring arsenic-bearing minerals such as realgar and orpiment, these towers are intended as display specimens. Wash hands after extended handling and avoid use in water, elixirs, or applications involving food contact.
